Josephine's breaks record in amount raised during Aveda's Earth Month

Josephine's Day Spa and Salon is proud to announce that between its Eldridge, Pearland and Rice Village locations, Josephine's raised a total of $16,231 for Aveda Earth Month in April 2014, making the total raised for Aveda Earth Month since 2006 $50,869.68. After last year's events, $34,638.68 had been raised since 2006, making this year the most successful campaign. Achieving this success with the fundraiser was made possible thanks to the help of staff members across the 3 salons and the entire Houston Community.
In order to hit a new record for their salons, Josephine's Day Spa and Salon divided their overall company goal between all of its employees. Each employee was asked to get creative on how to raise their portion. Some of the ways the staff raised money include: bake sales, babysitting, tips for clean water (the salon holds a non-gratuity policy) and donating time for services among others. Josephine's also participated in the 3rd Annual Aveda Earth Month Pedal Push in Houston for which they won 2 awards for Most Money Raised and Fastest Time!
Being an Aveda Salon, Josephine's Day Spa and Salon is committed to providing and maintaining a better world to live in and has been participating in the global Earth Month campaign since 2006. This year, the salon partnered with the Gulf Restoration Network and Global Greengrants Fund for Earth Month. All candle sales went to the Global Greengrants Fund, while salon staff efforts benefitted the regional partner Gulf Restoration Network.
Earth Month is a worldwide Aveda campaign focusing on the clean water issues impacting communities around the world. The funds raised during this campaign help bring clear and drinkable water to remote villages on every continent. With the motto: "Clean water changes lives", Aveda aspires to protect the planet and its peoples. An astonishing $6 million was raised across the United States throughout Aveda salons, reaching the goal for 2014.
