ED RYLAND, FOUNDER OF ARVO REALTY ADVISORS, ASSUMES POSITION AS CHAIR OF THE BOARD OF THE HOUSTON WEST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Houston (January 14, 2021) – The Houston West Chamber of Commerce (HWCOC) Board of Directors announces the appointment of real estate entrepreneur Ed Ryland as chair of its Board of Directors, where he will be responsible for supporting the health and long-term vision of the organization.
 
Ryland has enjoyed a successful career in the real estate industry for over 35 years. As the founder and CEO of ARVO Realty Advisors, his company serves as brokerage of multi-million dollar projects throughout Texas and other parts of the United States.
 
“I am looking forward to serving in this capacity. The business community has been facing and will continue to face some very challenging economic times. The Houston West Chamber of Commerce is needed now more than ever, and I am excited to be serving as this year’s chair of the board,” Ryland said.
 
In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, Ryland has served in various leadership positions in professional and community organizations. He is the former president of the Texas Association of Real Estate Brokers (TAREB), the Houston Black Real Estate Association, Teas and Houston Realists Organization, as well as the former chairman of the Houston Association of Realtors Economic Development and Diversity Institute, among other roles. His non-profit leadership involvement includes Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Literacy Advance, JASA House, ESCAPE Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Invest in My Own Community (IMOC) and many others.
 
Ryland holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and psychology from William Penn University. He has also completed the MBE Executive Program at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
 
Ryland has been received numerous awards and accolades by notable companies and organizations including the U.S. Department of Commerce, Houston Real Estate Association, Houston Minority Business Council, Greater Houston Black Chamber, Houston Minority Supplier Development Council, YMCA, Texas Black Expo, among others. He is also the author of the book, The Secrets to Building a Successful Minority-Owned Company.
