About the Speaker
Alan grew up in Harris County, and after graduating from Georgia Tech he returned to Houston to work as a private civil engineering consultant, designing and managing primarily public works projects. After 13 years as a private consultant, he moved to Harris County Flood Control District in 2008, starting first as a project manager, and has since guided engineering design projects at the Department and Division levels. He served Harris County Commissioners as the Interim Executive Director of the Flood Control District in late 2021/early 2022, and today works directly under the new Executive Director, Dr. Christina (Tina) Petersen, as Deputy Director Engineering and Construction.
