Longstanding HWCOC member, Tim Sullivan, recently completed a Leader to Leader weekend training with the MG100 program in San Diego, California. The MG100 is a group of global leaders from around the world that have committed to carry on Marshall Goldsmith's legacy of giving back to the leadership field by training others using Stakeholder Centered Coaching techniques such as the feedforward, key behavior rocks, and key stakeholders for longterm accountability. Using a "Pay for Results" executive coaching process, leaders and coaches are incentivised on behavioral change results in long term engagements -- focusing on ways to "help people get better." By including key stakeholders, the improvements become long lasting changes in the culture of the team and business. Four critically important ways stakeholders are asked to help are: 1)Let go of the past; 2)Be helpful and supportive, not cynical, sarcastic or judgemental; 3)Tell the truth; 4)Pick something to improve yourself. One of the most important steps in this process is the follow-up, on a continual basis. One key message that Marshall has given every CEO that he coaches is "To help others develop -- start with yourself." Ask Tim more about his trip, the seal lion, the wedding, the karaoke or about ways global leaders make a difference. As Marshall points out in his book, "What got you here, Won't get you there".
