Currently the Technical Director of Toxicology and Food Safety at Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. Annette Santamaria a board-certified toxicologist with 27 years of experience evaluating the health risks associated with exposure to a variety of industrial chemicals, nanomaterials, consumer products (e.g., personal care products, cosmetics, paints, cleaning products, air fresheners), pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and food additives. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and a Doctorate in Toxicology from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston. Her doctoral training was in molecular toxicology and her public health training focused on epidemiology and health policy. She has participated and presented in several workshops and meetings to address toxicological, exposure, and risk assessment issues regarding a wide variety of chemicals. She also established the Nanotoxicology Specialty Section of the Society of Toxicology in 2007 and continue to work in the area of nanotechnology.
