Shurronda R. Murray
Shurronda Murray is a native Houstonian. She is employed with the Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO), as its Small Business External Relations Officer. In this capacity, Shurronda assists small and disadvantaged businesses with contract opportunities, business development, technical assistance and certifications. She is responsible for providing external relations and outreach for the Department of Procurement and the Office of Small Business. She informs past, current and potential vendors about anticipated procurements and small business opportunities. She conducts small business monthly trainings and she promotes METRO’s certification to small and disadvantaged businesses. In September of 2009, Shurronda Murray received her Masters of Certification, as a “Certified Compliance Administrator” from the American Contract Compliance Association and Morgan State University Center for Continuing and Professional Studies. Shurronda gets a joy out of helping others. In 2020 Shurronda won “Advocate of the Year,” from Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA), 2020 Helping Hand of the Year Award,” from Houston Minority Supplier Development Council (HMSDC) and “Award of Merit,” from Greater Houston Business Procurement Forum (GHBPF). Shurronda has been employed by METRO for over 30 years.
