Dr. Porscha Jackson, PhD is the business development manager for the City of Houston’s Office of Business Opportunity (OBO). In her role, she manages the office’s small business development programs to help entrepreneurs access resources necessary to grow and build capacity in their business. She also provides one-on-one business counseling to assist aspirational entrepreneurs and small business owners navigate the process of doing business with the City of Houston and other governmental agencies in the Houston business ecosystem. Dr. PJ represents OBO at various community and outreach events, including giving presentations, keynote addresses, and talks about OBO services and business trends. In addition to her role at the City, she is the author of Pursuing Legacy and contributing author of academic texts and fictional anthologies. An advocate for historically disenfranchised firms and the career development of marginalized individuals, she is involved in various community and professional organizations centered on human resource development, adult learning, and urban education
