Clay is a sales and marketing executive who thinks like a business owner. Building on a foundation as president of a successful family business, Spitz, has a unique perspective that combines his owner experience with a corporate career as a marketing executive in public and privately held companies. He clearly envisions big picture strategies and knows how to bring them to life with solid cost-effective implementation.

Clay is the Southwest Region Managing Partner with Chief Outsiders, a national management consulting firm specializing in accelerating top-line growth.  They provide executive level Chief Marketing Officers on a fractional basis to mid-size companies and help to develop game-changing marketing strategy and manage implementation that drives results.
In his role as Managing Partner, Clay is responsible for business development, recruiting, hiring and coaching of the CMO’s in his region as well as being part of the firm’s executive team.  His most important job is finding the right match between a prospective client and the right CMO to meet their needs.
Clay lives in Houston and is married to Ronna, his wife of 39 years and has two grown children, Jason and Sarah, who have flown the coop to opposite coasts and have successful careers in their own right.  He is also the proud grandfather of two grandchildren.
